Tribute
“No”, I said, “it was only recent, upon checking my grades, that I realized na pwede pala.” This was my answer to Dra. Alba’s question during my UERM interview about whether or not I originally planned receiving any honors come graduation.
I never considered myself an achiever. I’ve always belonged in the cream section, our school’s version of star...

Dears' Week
Photo-loaded and extremely long post coming your way
Unlike most couples, Raphee and I don’t go on dates on a regular basis. We could hardly squeeze it in our busy schedule. Besides, it’s not like we don’t get to see each other everyday, eat together everyday, talk to each other every minute of everyday. So yeah, as far as we’re concerned, we still meet the...

Things I hate about studying for an exam
It’s tempting to say everything but let’s admit it, sometimes it does pay off. So instead, I’ll just put in some of the things I have been contemplating and suffering from this first day of February.
1. Not knowing what to study either because a.) you don’t have/know the necessary reference material, b.) you didn’t pay attention during class or c.) your teacher...

I get happy with things as shallow as this
As I was silently sipping my regular wintermelon milk tea with pearls while irritably shooing away flies from the taro milk tea beside it, I noticed a bunch of girls on the table next to mine. Well, they were noticeable to begin with. Aside from their loud conversations and ear-piercing laughter, they were also a crowd with around 7 or 8 of them occupying the longer of the two tables in the tea...

Twenty two
Many people claim that they are weird and despite the unconventional me, I happen to be one of them. Often, I find myself drifting to some fantasy land, imagining scenarios that would never come to life. I even remember that as a kid, I would go to our garage every afternoon and do some monologue, as if I’m in a telenovela of sorts. When I’m not so busy living in my own world,...

A Quarter of a Lifetime
On a lazy Saturday afternoon, in an attempt to evade schoolwork, I gathered some old birthday photographs and tried to remember as much birthday memories as I could such that I could piece together this very timely post (welcome to my birthday week!). Believe me, I did my best. It’s just that I have little memory from my childhood and these are all that I could squeeze out from my brain....

Disney on Ice
The Big Dome turned into a big playground with the vast majority of the audience being kids. But who cares, I’m a kid at heart and I honestly think that I’ll never be too old for Disney. :)
True to the show’s title “Let’s Celebrate!”, the fanfare featured well-loved Disney characters in a medley of spectacular celebrations and festivals from all around the...

Christmas
We wait for it as soon as it’s over. 364 days (365 if it’s a leap year), 4 months of preparation, 4 weeks of Advent, countdown to the last minute, and it passes just like that. 24 hours just like any ordinary day. But that’s the fun part, isn’t it? It’s how you’d make the most money out of it. Haha. But seriously, it’s a God-given day that must be...

6 Days before Christmas
Past 5:00 in the afternoon yesterday, I hopped into the car (Raphee’s car) on the way to Kevin’s house for our annual Christmas Party. And as his Dad skillfully traverses the unfamiliar streets (at least to me), I quietly watched as the sky turned gray, as if signalling the end of another day. I sighed a deep sigh and thought in disbelief of what had me occupied during the afternoon....

Lantern Parade 2011
12/16/11
My first (at least the first one I watched intentionally) and last as an undergrad. And might I just say that I almost grew varicose veins on my legs for standing too long, just watching and taking pictures. But it was all worth it! Also, I got tired eventually during the evening so not much pictures from that time on. I didn’t even get to take a single picture of/with my friends....

The Real Thing Diner
I’m not sure if you’ve noticed it from my other posts, but I do love eating. In fact, of the many things Raphee and I have in common, this love for eating is probably on top of the list. Hence, our bonding sessions usually involve chewing, nibbling, munching, basically exercising our jaws and stuffing our tummies. And our latest food trip?
THE REAL THING DINER!
Stepping...
